Sudani from Nigeria
Today saw the movie “ Sudani from Nigeria” at Kairali
Theatre, Thiruvananthapuram. It is really a must see movie. A very positive and
controlled script with soft and sober direction. I appreciate Zakariya
Mohammed, Muhsin Parari and the team. Zakariya succeeded in presenting a game
so close to people of Malappuram, the sevens football and the people who live
with it, struggle to manage the team and the crisis they face. Just like the
movie, Parava, that also told about a game , I enjoyed the movie. Soubin Shahir
took his masterly acting for the movie as Majeed ,the manager of a sevens club . Like Fahad, he acts well with the eyes . The
innocent smile of Nigerian Samuel Abiola Robinson will remain with us.
The love and affection of village people and the sincerity of mother
Jameela acted by Savithri Sreedharan and Beeyumma by Sarasa Balussery will
remain with us even after the show is over.We never feel the language and
country barrier in interaction between Samuel and Majeed’s mother. KTC Abdulla as step father of Majeed , Lukman Lukku as Rajesh, Abhiram
Pothuval as Kunjippa, Aneesh.G.Menon as Nizar, Navas Vallikunnu as Latheef ,Sidheek
Kodiyathur as Naserkka , Ashraf Thangal as Bavakka made excellent acting. The attitude
of police is shown in a well manner with a little humour. The film tells things
as its comes and with small ups and downs and that is the beauty of the movie.
Shyju Khalid’s camera, songs by Rex Vijayan and Shahabaz Aman also
supported the movie to excel. Naufal Abdullah’s editing is
perfect that the audience never feel a cut even in their mind.
Congratulations to the producers Sameer Thahir and Shyju Khalid for the
risk they took for making such a movie with less “actors”
