The interview with Dr. Kalaiselvi, Director General of CSIR, conducted by Jithendra Choubey of The New Indian Express and published on December 3, 2024, is truly inspiring. India has made remarkable advancements in science and technology, thanks to the freedom and facilities now provided to researchers, which have liberated agencies from bureaucratic constraints. Industries have immense faith in our institutions and are increasingly relying on domestic technologies rather than foreign ones.

In the field of medicine production, India is poised to emerge as a hub for developing and economically disadvantaged nations. According to Dr. Kalaiselvi, India will begin producing high-quality paracetamol at an affordable rate next year, which will undoubtedly provide a morale boost to developing and underdeveloped countries. India is already recognized as a hub for quality medicines at affordable prices. Furthermore, leveraging traditional knowledge can significantly expand our research horizons.

The future of our economy undoubtedly rests on the high expectations placed on our talented researchers and world-class research institutions.
