Hare Island or Muyal Theev in Tamil is located in the Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu. The island, which adjoins the V.O.Chidambaranar Port Trust, is now connected by road to Thoothukudi. The island covers an area of 1.29 square kilometers and is an ideal place to spend an evening. Part of the Bay of Bengal, the sea is calm like a big river. No waves, just ripples. Thorn trees and mangroves can also be seen. There is also a lighthouse. The public has no access to the lighthouse. The beach is located behind the Thoothukudi Thermal Power Station. The evening view of the power station from there is also beautiful.
