Enna than case kodu (Sue me ) -malayalam movie review

Nna than the case Kod ( Sue me)

ONV-Ousepachan song Devadootar Padi is still being sung by Malayalee children after thirty years of its birth, is the magic of Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduwal and Kunchako Boban. No one would have thought that this song and its context would become such a big hit. It happens!! This song is also the reason why the movie got attention before it hit the theaters.

Then the Malayalee audience was excited to hear that the pothole in the road and the conflict with the system are part of the film. Above all, the court scenes are presented with a lot of realism in a disciplined, systematic and tireless manner.

I saw the movie on Hotstar. Ratheesh’s debut film “Android Kunjappan”  made an interest on his way of filming.  Ratheesh has prepared this film with a lot of thought as the “Kanakam Kamini Kalaham”did not get enough attention. The story begins where Kozhummal Rajeevan,a small time robber , lives politely with a girl named  Devi. But Rajeev ends up having to fight with the big thieves in the society. When Rajeev comes before the court to save his pride in front of his wife and prove his innocence, a judge who is free from the crookedness of the law ,writes a verdict in his favor. The film, which travels through black humor from beginning to end, may be shot at Kasargod  because it is a place with at least a little bit of rural charm remains.

For the large community, including me, who think that the court is a lawyer's paradise, the sight of a common thief winning his own case in court is interesting and surprising. Probably, Ratheesh might  have written this script  with such a perspective. In any case, 'Nna Than Case Kod' is a good film without any technical gimmicks or acting challenges.

Produced by Kunchacko Boban, Santhosh T Kuruvila and Sherin Rachel, the cinematography of the film is done by Rakesh Haridas , editing  by Manoj Kannoth and music by Don Vincent. It is also noteworthy that the director managed to get the necessary acting out of everyone who handled small and big roles, including Kunchacko Boban, Gayatri Shankar, PP Kujunkrishnan and Rajesh Madhavan.

Those who haven't seen the movie yet, try to watch it in Hotstar
